Privacy Policy for Clean Break Independent Living

A legal disclaimer

Effective Date: July 15, 2026

1. Nature of the Program and Residency

IMPORTANT: Clean Break is a partner-operated Independent Structured Living Program. By applying for and participating in this program, you acknowledge and agree that this is a participation-based membership focused on sobriety and self-sufficiency.

Participation in Clean Break does not create a landlord-tenant relationship. Residents are "Program Participants" rather than tenants. This is not a traditional lease or housing-only residency; it is a license to occupy a bed within a structured, rule-bound environment. Access to the facility is contingent upon active participation in the program and adherence to all sober-living guidelines.

2. Information We Collect

To maintain the integrity of our structured environment, we collect:

  • Participant Identification: Full name, contact details, and government-issued ID.

  • Suitability Assessment: Information regarding sobriety history, recovery commitment, and behavioral history to ensure the safety of the shared living community.

  • Financial Records: Documentation of the $300 non-refundable Program Entry Fee and monthly program participation fees ($900 – $1,100).

  • Surveillance Data: Video footage from security cameras located in all common areas (kitchens, hallways, living rooms, and laundry) to ensure compliance with program safety standards.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

Information is used exclusively to:

  • Manage the safety and sobriety of the shared living environment.

  • Coordinate 20-bed or 24-bed unit configurations across the partnership.

  • Monitor facility security through keyless entry logs and common area surveillance.

  • Administer the operational costs and partner distributions essential to program longevity.

4. Shared Living and Privacy Expectations

Because Clean Break is a shared living program, participants have a reduced expectation of privacy in common areas compared to a traditional private residence.

  • Common Areas: Use of kitchens, living rooms, and hallways is monitored and recorded for the safety of all participants.

  • Bedrooms: While bedrooms are shared (2 beds per room), we respect participant privacy within these spaces; however, the program reserves the right to conduct safety and wellness inspections as outlined in the Program Rules.

  • Valuables: We provide foot lockers with smart locks for personal items, but the program is not responsible for the loss of personal property.

5. Data Disclosure

We do not sell participant data. Information is shared only among the four equal managing partners for the purpose of program administration. We will disclose participant information to external parties only when:

  • Required by law or a valid legal order.

  • Necessary for emergency medical response.

  • Required to report violations of the law that threaten the safety of the program community.

6. Security of Records

Digital and physical records, including participant applications and smart lock logs, are kept confidential and are accessible only to the managing partners. Secure technology is utilized on the provided unit desktop computers to ensure participant records are handled with care.

7. Participant Acknowledgement

By paying the Program Entry Fee and occupying a bed, you signify that you understand this policy and the non-tenancy nature of Clean Break. You acknowledge that your information is collected specifically to facilitate a sober, structured, and partner-managed recovery environment.

8. Contact

For questions regarding your data or the structure of this program, please contact the Clean Break managing partners.
